At least the Black Americans who are not supporting trump.
Have you ever seen The Purge movies? They’re scary because they feel like they could happen, especially the scenes where Black and brown communities are targeted. The thing is, some Trump supporters have made it clear that, no matter the outcome, they’re prepared to defend their beliefs—even if it means using violence. They’re organized, they have resources, and they’ve even got the police, military, and unity on their side. That’s why it’s important for us to be prepared too. Here are a few essentials:

Emergency Money: Keep some cash on hand for unexpected situations where you need to protect your family.
Insurance: Home, car, life, health—all the basics. Even a low-cost plan can make a difference in the long run. Also, know what your insurance includes and doesn't. Make sure there are at least two other people who know how to access your information to make claims on your behalf.
Passport and Global Entry: It’s good to have the option to leave temporarily if things get heated.
Survival Kit: Pack a bag with emergency supplies and clothes, just in case.
Grow Your Own Food: Indoor gardens are easy to start, and they
give you more control over what you eat. Use YouTube to help you get started.
Bonus: Find a way to earn income from home—it’s empowering and adds extra security.
I hope we never have to think of leaving this country because of the strength and beauty Black Americans bring to it. But having an emergency plan is a must, especially when so much is uncertain.
I’m not saying I fully trust Kamala, but I trust her more than I trust what could happen if Trump wins—or even if he loses. Stay safe and be aware of what’s happening around you.
