Dos Centavos Episode 1: I almost got kidnapped in Chicago | Click here for English. | Less than 24 hours in Chicago | Solo Female Travel

This post is accompanied by the Spanish and ASL versions of the story.

So, the morning of my flight, I arrived at the airport 3 hours before because it is less of a hastle. I ended up missing my flight because the terminal was changed at the last minute. When I finally arrived in Chicago, I picked a Spanish Speaking Uber driver (every chance to improve my skills, I take).

He recommended I eat at Portillo's & Barnelli's Chicago.

I ordered what I thought would be the equivalent of a Philly Cheesesteak. The texture of the meat was different. It was okay.

I visited the 94th floor of the John Hancock Building. It had amazing views! I definitely recommend doing this if you are in town!

I then visited the famous Bean, which was closed. I'm not sure why it is famous. I was able to see it through the holes in the fence.

I rode a water taxi that gave us an achitectural tour of Downtown Chicago! It was amazing! It was 45 minutes and sitting on the lower deck was perfect for staying cool in the shade and the unobstructed views!

After the boat ride, I took an Uber to New Life Covenant Church for 12 Hour Prayer hosted by Pastor John F Hannah! @PastorHannah on Instagram! I got in at 6:30 and stayed until 1AM! It was amazing.

Afterwards, my Lyft driver's profile said he was Deaf. I was excited because I know ASL. I love making new friends! He wasn't Deaf. He was Russian and used Google Translator to communicate with me. He told me in English that I'm very pretty. Then he called someone and started speaking in Russian. He hung up and asked me if he could stop and get some water from the gas station. I told him my flight was leaving soon and I had to be at the airport asap! He didn't like that answer. I called a friend and stayed on the phone until I arrived at the airport. I was terrified! But, Not today Satan!

I made it back to my home and family safely! If you have less than 24 hours in Chicago, check out the activities on Viator. I am not a paid affiliate for them (YET, speaking things into existence!), I just use them personally!
