Enesse Reviews, the reviews: Jamaica while pregnant

Being pregnant while having an adventurous appetite in Jamaica, is the worst time to go. You have to pass on all of the cool activities like ATVs, ziplines, Dunn's River Falls, swimming with the dolphins, and well you get the idea. So here's how my husband and I spent our honeymoon week in Jamaica while I was pregnant with our second child.

1) Got food as soon as we left the airport. Our driver recommended a local restaurant. It was nice to eat non-tourist food. I can't remember the name, but ask for a recommendation from your driver.

2) Picked up groceries so we could make breakfast. I know some people prefer to eat out and not cook. We were on a budget and I had very specific cravings. We'd eat out once / day and cook our other meals. (One of my favorite places to go when traveling is the grocery store to see the cost of living in person and see what international items I can try at market price rates).

3) We packed a picnic and went to Dead End beach near the Montego Bay airport and watched the planes land as the sun began to hide for the night, while sipping fresh coconut water purchased from locals.

4) We walked towards the Usain Bolt Restaurant, but it was so packed we decided to get bites from another local restaurant, Juici Patty. Oh my gosh! I didn't even know that they can come with Lettuce and tomato inside the patties! Highly recommend! We went back 3 more times before our week was up.

5) We went shopping where locals buy regular clothes instead of purchasing tourist attire. We wanted to blend in and not look like tourists as much as possible even though they'd know.

6) We got high up on our Airbnb's roof to see the beautiful ocean views. We were in the mountainous side of Montego Bay and could see the city and water. It was breathtaking.

7) We went to the nail shop and got mani pedis.

8) We went to a movie theater during the middle of the day and had the whole theater to ourselves.

9) We took a roadtrip from Montego Bay to Negril.

10) In Negril, we visited the Azul Resort. Beautiful, but predictable resort feeling. I do not recommend the food because it didn't taste flavorful like the authentic Jamaican food we had in the previous days.

11) We decided to spend a few nights at a local airbnb instead and enjoyed time in the garden and how much space we got for the bargained rate we paid!

12) Spent the rest of our time in nature and chatting with locals.

13) On the morning of our flight returning home, we had a roadtrip back from Negril to the airport with our driver from the previous roadtrip. The issue is, the night before was an EXTREMELY late night. Our night ended 2 hours before we were ment to get in the car to go to the airport. We spent most of that time packing and trying not to go to sleep.

If you are pregnant and want to vacation in Jamaica, I highly recommend it because Jamaica is beautiful, but you have to be intentional about having a relaxing trip because there's no specific activities you CAN do. Even taking scheduled walks in the formal gardens can have slippery pathways that can be dangerous for pregnant women. Especially during hurricane season. I hope that these give you ideas for your trip.

Safe Travels!
